WHO ARE WE
Two W Brangus was built on a dream that began in 2018 — but the passion for farming runs much deeper. Founder Myburgh Wessels grew up among cattle and farmers on a family farm in the Ventersburg district. Today, he lives that dream alongside his father, Tewie Wessels, and his long-time friend and Class of 2000 schoolmate, David Nel.

Tewie serves as stud manager, working hand-in-hand with Ephraim, his right-hand man, to care for the herd with daily dedication and skill. David leads marketing with unmatched energy and drive, sharing his passion for Brangus cattle with breeders and clients across the country.

Brangus?
Brangus are often called the 8th wonder of the world — adaptable to every part of South Africa, calm-tempered, highly fertile, and known for exceptional beef quality. They are ideally suited to both stud and commercial operations.

Breeding Approach
Two W Brangus combines a deep respect for the breed with advanced breeding technology:

Artificial Insemination (AI) using both imported and selected local sires.

Sexed semen to better manage the ratio of bull and heifer calves born.

In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) with genetics from top breeders, transferring embryos into recipient cows.
The stud works alongside leading experts such as Dr. Collin Albertyn, Ben Pretorius, and the team from Absolute Genetics to ensure consistent genetic progress and cattle that make a real difference.

Two Branches, One Focus
The farming operation consists of two main branches:

Stud Breeding – selecting only the best calves each year to strengthen and improve the stud herd.

Weaner Calf Marketing – quality calves not selected for the stud are marketed as weaners to commercial operations.
